Those relations have worsened at a time when the need for stopping the spread of atomic weapons has been intensified by Communist China’s emergence as a nuclear power; but even this additional spur has failed to produce noticeable progress.

Nuclear proliferation is a term now used to describe the spread of nuclear weapons, fissile material, and weapons-applicable nuclear technology and information, to nations which are not recognized as “Nuclear Weapon States” by the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons, also known as the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty

      • azzzcy permalink

Two plausible conclusions may be drawn from this history of the first proliferation of nuclear weapons. The first conclusion is that proliferation is easy and inevitable. The second is that it does not matter very much, because a nuclear balance of power will deter aggressors from using their nuclear weapons, either directly to kill people, or indirectly, threatening their use in order to secure advantage.

  6. this topic is a really big problem in the u.s.a. people have died and suffered from this dangerous weapon. this weapon must be deactivated a.s.a.p, because this weapon has killed millions and we as a nation could give every nuclear weapon away and save this nation.

    • catherinapark permalink

but if we’re the only ones that give our nuclear weapons, what about the other countries in the world that have nuclear warfare? what if they choose to bomb us and we have no defense? thoughts?

“To put it bluntly,” Mr. Frank said, “in the eyes of the North Korean leadership all three countries took the economic bait, foolishly disarmed themselves, and once they were defenseless, were mercilessly punished by the West.”

“must feel alarmed, but also deeply satisfied with themselves,” said Rüdiger Frank.

Reasons: These two statements point out why North Korea stick to developing their own nuclear weapon technology. The first could also be an brief overall view of nuclear history in other developing countries.

Nuclear weapons are the most dangerous weapons in the world, a nuclear bomb can kill million of people and many people will get pollution. I think we don’t need this Technology right now, because we want to live in the peace world even I know this is impossible.
